Marieke van Haaster

Marieke van Haaster\'s passion for cannabis research began as a graduate at University Rotterdam, where she studied the effectiveness of cannabis cultivars for multiple sclerosis patients. After graduating, she dedicated her career to exploring cannabis strains and accumulating 15 years of experience in clinical trials, including work with the CBD-based medicine Epidiolex. At MariPharm, a Dutch pioneer supplying medicinal cannabis through pharmacies since the \'90s, she deepened her expertise in cultivars including the role of terpenes and flavonoids. Following the passing of MariPharm\'s founder, Marcel de Wit, Marieke founded her own company, focusing on cultivar-specific products. Her innovative cultivar-specific formulations utilize compounds, including non-cannabinoids like terpenes and flavonoids, effective without CBD or THC, to meet patient and healthcare needs. Recently, she has focused on creating and testing cultivar-specific resistent F1 hybrids as tetraploid plants for enhanced therapeutic potential.
